in Party Reviews
This was our second open Tuesday party and it was a great success!!! Lots of interest from the DJ's, there are so many that want to play for you!!!
Here's a brief review of each DJ who played: Kyra Gilmour played a very energetic minimal set!! You can really tell that she works hard at her music, and I was well pleased with her selection of tunes!!! Always so great to hear someone who loves music and loves to please the listener!!! Thank you Kyra!!! Myla Vukovic also played a minimal set, in true minimal style. She has a very nice style and I enjoyed it very much!! If minimal is one of your favorite styles, then I encourage you to look for her and have a listen to her the next time she is playing!!! Thank you Myla!!! DJMuekas is always a crowd pleaser, and we were very lucky to have him play at HOME!! Been awhile since I heard him play because he has been away in rl (oh the horror of being stuck in rl)!!! So now he is back and his music was great to listen and dance to!! Thank you DJM, we've missed you!!! Kloseline Flatley played a fantastic set!!! It was a set of mixed styles, he packed a lot into just one hour!! He played some breaks and then a bit of techno and moved right along to finish his set with some dubstep!! Kloseline is very versatile!! I loved his set and so did the crowd!!! Thank you Kloseline!!! Duke Cameron was playing a really entertaining electro house set!! We were just starting to really get into it, when he lost his internet connection Genki Dreamscape had an awesome set as well!! He started off with some really great UK Hardcore, a few of his tracks were his own original tunes that he played using four (yes four) turntables!!! Then he moved on to do a bit of house music and he does well with this style as well!!! And then, he moved on to play some straight up techno!!! Yep!!! His techno selection was really great to dance to, and he had a lot of compliments on this too!!! Genki is very versatile and I enjoyed all his styles very much!!! Thank you Genki!!! I could have gone into more depth with this review, but let's say this is a "teaser"!!! Just enough information to make you curious enough to definately want to listen to all of these hard working music makers!!! The music was great, the crowd was great and it was a really wonderful party!!! Thank you all for your support. You are all very special to me and you are always welcome 'HOME'!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey everybody!!! The Monday Hates You Crew sure did hit a HOMErun!!!!! What a wonderful party, thanks to them and thanks to everyone who attended!!!
It is very obvious to me that not only do we have great people playing their music for us, but we also have a fantastic crowd of sincere music lovers!! It's a real compliment to the Dj's to have a crowd that has fun and who also appreciates what they are hearing!! So the party started at 12:00 slt/pdt with Bibdui playing!! Sorry to say that I was at my rl job and couldn't get there for the beginning Next up was YuzienBorn and wooooooooot!!! Yuzi and his wide variety of tunes blew the roof right off of HOME!! His set this week was even more energetic than it normally is and his passion for music really showed!! His great music got our synapsis popping and the crowd went wild!!!!!! Yuzien was a whirlwind and we loved it!!! Thank you so much!! Okay now time to chill with Dr Ribe Oh and try to collect our senses, if possible. So into what was to become nearly a five hour set with Ribe began!! Ribe is one of those people who knows how to reach right down inside of a person and play with your heart-strings!! One of the most notable comments of the night was: "Listening to Ribe could make a person fall in love". That is an extremely high compliment, one of the highest for sure!! The Monday Hates You crew is amazing and we are so lucky to have them here at HOME. We are very grateful to them all and very happy to welcome them HOME every Monday along with all of you!! Gosh everyone!!! Sorry but I feel that I am not giving enough credit to these parties!! What a busy week and weekend we had at HOME!! Filled with the best music to be heard and so many great party goers!! I had such a great time and hope you did too!!! So now it was Sunday and time to chill a bit!!!
We welcomed Mach Volitant to the chillout room!!! His music was so perfect, we just sort of floated around!!! He has a remarkable way of really getting a relaxed and yet excited mood going with his sounds!! I remember right in the beginning an amazing tune he played. The main part of the track was all done with a tuba and wow!!! There were little tinkling chimes mixed in there with other sounds too, and I could picture myself in a garden surrounded by nothing but the warm sun, a gentle breeze and the sweet sounds of nature along with his music!!! Soooooo relaxing!!! His set continued for hours (long past when he thought he would stop), but it seemed like only minutes as the world slipped away and nothing else existed for us but that time and place!! I am at a loss here for words really, it's hard to describe the feeling. Mach's sets are something that you really have to experience for yourself!!! We are so lucky to have Mach play for us here at HOME and I urge you to have a listen to him whenever and wherever you get the chance. You will be so glad that you did!! Thank you so much Mach!! Thank you all!! When Mach finished, Altern8 took over in the chillout room!! It isn't often that you get to hear A8 play chill!! I really must say that chill may not be what you expect from A8, but he has it down for sure!!! As the chillout room was overflowing with people, A8 continued to pull out record after record!! Most of them I hadn't heard him play before, and I never got a chance to ask him where in the heck he found it all!! We had some jazz mixed in there, some pop, a bit of trance and a whole lot of other music too. Most notable for me were some tunes with a sitar type sound mixed throughout!!! The party goers were enthralled and I was majorly impressed!! And in true A8 style, this went on for hours and hours and he never missed a beat!!! What a very special way to end the weekend!! Thank you so much Altern8!! We all loved it, please do some more chill stuff soon!!! Monday, April 21. 2008Tiari and 2ndthoughts play their own music & a no dj party!!!Posted by Justine Perenti

It's no secret that I love Tiari's music!! And sooooooo, I was well pleased to welcome him HOME again on Saturday night to play his great music!!! So wonderful to have those sweet Tiari sounds again!!!
Fairly minimal and extremely deep, well thought out mixes are the style that Tiari played this night! Watch for his name again soon so you can catch his next set!!! To have a listen to four of his original tracks go to http://www.myspace.com/djtiari Thank you so very much Tiari!!! Nexxxxxxxt!!! 2ndthoughts Brando (noraj cue) came straight to HOME after a long day at work to soothe, excite and amaze us with his brilliant music!!! And of course no it's secret here either that 2nd's music is another one of my loves!!! You can find him at http://www.myspace.com/norajcue and http://www.myspace.com/2ndthoughtsbrando and noraj-cue.com I lost track of the hours here because time had no meaning anymore as we were swept away on a perfect melodic musical ride!!! 2nd was kind enough to play us many of his new tracks and he dug up some old ones of his from somewhere!!! It got more and more crowded the later it got, lol, so we partied the night and right into the next morning!!! Thank you 2ndthoughts, always so sweet and so kind and the music he plays is perfection!!! And then.......that's right!!! We weren't finished, we had a spontaneous event!! It was the first ever "No DJ Party at HOME"!!!! What a blast!!! The crowd gathered and stayed and we entertained ourselves with the help of some great recorded music, but no DJ, just us!! We listened to schranz and some gabber with a bit of extreme hard house thrown in there!! This was really a special time for us at HOME as we listened to music and talked with each other about lots and lots of things!! Sometimes we were very quiet dancing away in our own worlds and then back together again soon to merge into one collective spirit!!! I hope that we get to do a "No DJ Party at HOME" again very soon!!! If you happen to come in during one of these, stay for awhile and see what I mean. It was a very special ending to a very special day & night, and for some a very special good morning as they stumbled out of bed!!! lol Thank you so very much to the great DJ's, Tiari and 2nd!!! Thank you to the great friends that joined us and yes, thank you to SL for letting us all come together at one time and in one place from all over the world!! Wow everyone!!! Was that a great party or what?? If you missed then you really did miss one heck of a great time filled with so much great music!! Of course sl had it's regular, or what seems to be regular, Friday troubles. Log in issues mostly and the server asset stuff for awhile, and then an update to the client!! But nothing can stop these parties at HOME!!!
We started off with Robot Recreant (Coefficient) and this time he played his Coefficient sounds!!! What a fantastic set he did for us. Truly amazing, and we are so lucky to have him play for us since he is so busy in rl doing his music. His signature sounds take us to another time and another place, his music gives our brains a natural high, I'm pretty sure somewhere in outer space!! It's not very often that we have such a treat so be sure and catch his set next time!! You can check him out at http://www.myspace.com/coefficientuk Well worth the listen anytime. Thank you Robot!! Next we were treated to a set by Humble Pinion, and I must say that each and every time he plays he manages to find new records!! You can always count on being treated to a wonderful listen when Humble spins!! If you missed this set then that is really a shame, and I hope that you catch his next one. You'll be glad that you did!! Thank you Humble!!! And thennnnnnnn, wooooooot!!! Frax Dae took over the decks, and WOW!!! Frax is another musician that you won't get a chance to hear in sl very often, and so it is a wonderful treat when he plays. He manages to move us through a wide array of feelings with his tunes and he really is very talented and gifted!! And again, when you next have a chance to hear him play I hope you are lucky enough to be wherever he is!!! Thank you so much Frax!! Okay, now at this point we are thinking we have had an amazing time but HOME wasn't finished partying yet!! Live from Holland we had for the first time ever in sl Tiari and 2ndthoughts playing together live and streaming into sl!!!!! Now this was a treat that commanded our full attention!!!!!!! What sweet sounds we heard from those two!!! So there you have my brief review and it really doesn't do any of these great musicians and their wonderful music justice. But to sum it all up, HOME was definately the place to be!! Thank you everyone!!! Thursday, April 17. 2008A8 was on fire!!Posted by Justine Perenti

Okay, once again please forgive my clumsy efforts here!! I would have loved to put a photo here, but no luck!!! lol
In anycase, I wanted to let you all know that A8 played a truly amazing set for us last night at HOME!! His selections covered a wide array of sounds, each one invoking a different emotion within us. From the most ancient beat of the drummer's drum in africa to a bit of modern ghetto, and everything in between!! Comments from the crowd included: "Wow, this is a sound that I have never heard A8 play", "Wicked set!!", "You touched my emotions and brought tears to my eyes", among many others. Some of his set was so hypnotic that it was impossible to do anything except ride along on his river of sounds. Of course there is always that certain "A8 sound" in every set that he plays, and the best thing of all is that his true passion and love of music is reflected in each track! So that's my review!! I hope you all enjoyed last night as much as I did!! A8's music and your great company was absolutely perfect!!! See you next time! Sunday, April 6. 2008The party that never happenedPosted by A8

Ok, we experienced trouble in SL yesterday big time. SL was gone for ages. Ppl were not able to rez things and so on. Well, we had booked a very talented young man for the night. Robot Recreant is his SL name, in RL he is known under the name Coefficient. He released some tracks on Labyrnth. Unfortunately the trouble with SL and another big trouble that is going on on this planet came together. The other big trouble is that Robots neighbours really got a problem when he plays music loud late at night, so this is why he can only play early times.
Finally SL was back again and it was 2.30 PM SLT and the timeslot for Robots gig closed at 3PM, so we decided it would be better he played another day. So we just went up to the mainfloor to do a one song soundcheck. But u know how it is, when musicians say they will do only 1 song. This one song never ends, especially when it comes up to mixing electronic music ![]() When a party never happens So Robot played for some time and we started first to tp ppl. He played longer and we sent out some messages. The floor was getting packed and suddenly Humble decided to play afterwards. Both of them did great sets. And ppl enjoyed their time at HOME. Thx boyz for the great time we had with ya!!!! Ah, and btw, if u ever asked yourself, how do these guys organize those parties, u might listen to this little story here: mp3 -> How to plan a club event in SL Find the mix of Humble here -> L I N K |
