Ohhh, I sure do hope that Altern8 recorded and publishes his set from last night at HOME!!!
Where oh where does he get all his music?? His stacks of records are never-ending!! DJ A8 started out with that smooth jazzy sound that he plays from time to time, and then eased us into a set full of all sorts of different sounds!! As best I can remember (omg, my poor brain!!) he moved us into some tunes with a South American flair, and maybe even some African beats!! I guess I say this because the music was intertwined with loads of drums including bongo's and I mean LOTS of them!!! For me drums are primal and moves my spirit back to when time and music first began. Waaaayyyyyyy back into my roots and yours too!!! It was a great time travelling trip for us all!!! And of course in true A8 style he threw in some acid of course!! Gotta love acid!!! And oohhhhhhh, I nearly forgot his dnb tunes!! Wonderful music played with soul and passion!!! We all loved it and even though he was running a fever and ill, I am pretty sure that he felt a lot better because he really does love to play for you all!!! Thank you everyone and thank you Altern8!!!! Wednesday, May 28. 2008Open Tuesday at HOME was amazing!!!!Posted by Justine Perenti

Open Tuesday at HOME was amazing!!!!!
Sergioarjonadadj Zerbino was not able to play last night. We will schedule him again soon though!! DJ Migueles Capalini from Portugal filled the spot with no notice at all!! And wow Migueles was great!!! He played a tribal/progressive set for us. He had an amazing set on the spur of the moment!! Part of his set had a really smooth jazzy sound to it!! Very good music, fun to listen to and great to dance to!! I loved it and everyone else did too!!! He's another that I encourage you to watch for and catch one of his sets when you can. I definately will be looking forward to hearing him play again!! Thank you so much DJ Migueles!! Next up was DJ Barbarick Bailey from the UK. His style was hard dance, but included some acid sounds!!! He played nearly two hours and of course we all had a fantastic time, dancing and listening to his wonderful set!!! You really have to hear him for yourself, I am sure that you will enjoy what you hear!!! I very much look forward to hearing him again very soon!!! He plays a few different styles and I highly recommend him! And again, I encourage you to watch for him when he next plays, whenever and wherever he is playing!!! Thank you for your great music Barbarick!!! And of course you all know that HOME is full of surprises, and we ended the night with Mr. No DJ!!! That means that we partied listening to a set of Wiu Bing's that was recorded when he played at HOME!!! omg, it was sooooooo good!!! And then, we listened to a recorded set of A8's. Always a pleasure to hear him, whether live or something we have recorded. I sooooooooo love our Open Tuesday event, and look forward to every Tuesday with different sounds from different DJ's from all over the world. Thank you everyone!!! HOMEY's are the best!!! You all are amazing!!! Wednesday, May 21. 2008Another great Open Tuesday at HOME!!!Posted by Justine Perenti

Open Tuesday's at HOME seems like a big success!! Thanks to the great DJ's and all of you who come to the club!!!
It's very interesting to listen to several people play their music in a short timespan. And it's also a lot of fun to party with new people!! Everyone is welcome HOME!!! So tonight we had another great night!!! Excellent music and a really fun party!! We started off with a very sweet, but energetic minimal set by DJ Cool Zeno from Germany!!! It definately was not a typical "minimal" set and DJ Cool is one of those DJ's that you have to hear for yourself. He was very consistant and had a really nice "peppy" sound!! I loved it and so did the crowd!! Look for his name and catch a set of his when you can, I know that I definately will!! Thank you so much DJ Cool!! Next up was DJ Goodes Bade from Portugal!! I hate categorizing the style of the DJ and their music, since there are so many definitions and some are broad but some are very narrow, and so I hope that I get this right. I would say that DJ Goodes played a great minitekk (minimal techno) set for us tonight. And in just one hour he managed to treat our senses to a vast array of music!! Soooooooo good, really entertaining and he kept our attention, great sounds to dance to as well!! And again, watch for DJ Goodes and party with him when you get the chance. I can tell you for certain that he definately is a crowd pleaser!! Thank you DJ Goodes!! Finishing up our night was DJ Frederick Heberle of Switzerland!! He played us a fantastic techno/electro set!!! I like to call what he does "suspension music", and of course you are wondering what the heck does she mean by that?? What I mean is that DJ Frederick's tunes make you hold your breath to hear what is coming next. He caught us up in his tunes and kept us inside the music with his fantastic sounds!! And yes, you know what I will say next, but I have to because it is true: watch for DJ Frederick and catch his sets when he plays!! I definately will be!! Thank you DJ Frederick!! It's so hard to pick a favorite night or party, but I will say that Open Tuesday is a lot of fun for me. I can tell by the reactions of all of you, that it is a lot of fun for you too!!! And I am so glad of that!! And btw, if you know of a DJ who hasn't played at HOME yet, please have him or her contact me so we can have a listen to them!! Thank you DJ Cool, DJ Goodes and DJ Frederick. And thank you all too!! It was a really great party and I so look forward to next Open Tuesday!! Oooohhh, and next time you see Paridise or Minimal ask them what happened after everyone left, lol!! I am still laughing, hahaha!! OMG!!! Monday's really do hate us!! But it gets soooooooooo much better when the Monday's Hate You crew gets started!!!

YuzienBorn, thank you for your music and your great sense of humor!! Check him out at the following sites: http://whyareyoulistening.com http://www.myspace.com/riffraffproject Ribe, thank you for your music and your kind heart!! Check him out at the following: http://www.myspace.com/drribeo These three are not just great music makers, they are also wonderful people. They play their music for us all with such warmth and passion!! It really means a lot to know that Bib, Yuzi and Ribe are enjoying themselves too!! It sure is hard to have the Monday Hates You blues with these fantastic people keeping us entertained with their great sounds and fabulous personalties!! I would also like to take up a few lines here for something else. It's about ALL of you who come to HOME!! (And btw, if you haven't been added to the group yet, please let me know so I can add you). I probably have said it before, but I want to say this again: HOME just isn't HOME without you in it. Thank you all so much!! And for good measure (for the crash god's to whom I gave up my dinner last night, lol), thank you for those responsible for Second Life. What a great place to come HOME to!!! Wow, wow, wow and wow!!!!
What a wonderful Open Tuesday we had again at HOME!! Short review here for you, trying hard to catch up!! But I love to give credit where credit is due, and we are so pleased with all of our Open Tuesday DJ's!! So very lucky to have such wonderful people at the parties, and so very lucky to have such fantastic music makers. Thank you all! We started out the night with some really fresh sounds played by DJ Akira Seymour from Germany!!! I have never had the pleasure of hearing her music before and will definately be looking forward to hearing her again!! Thank you Akira!! Next, from Italy was DJMaurice Hax! Fabulous set of house and soulful tunes!! Very deep and intense is how I would describe his sounds. A wonderful listening experience for us all!! If you see that DJMaurice is playing, I highly recommend that you try to make it to one of his sets!! I know I will be waiting for the next time!! Thank you Maurice!! And next up was DJ Aznag Gazov from Portugal!! I was completely captivated by his music!! Very very very nice job indeed!!! I want to say that I was surprised at the variety of sounds he played. I hope I don't have it wrong but I would describe his set as somewhat of a trance set but with a bit of a twist to it, really really nice mix of sounds!! And again, this is someone that I will be waiting to have another listen to again. I loved it!! Thank you Aznag!! Last but certainly NOT least we welcomed DJ Minimal Berliner from.... yes, you guessed it, Berlin Germany!!! I so enjoyed his classic minimal style!!! Fabulous mix of tunes from him!! Just the perfect blend of everything you can imagine that a true minimal set should be!! I am not positive, but I think it ended up being over a three hour set!! lol, we just didn't want to stop because he had us nice and relaxed and in a great mood, not wanting the night to end!! And again, I look forward to hearing his sweet sounds again very soon!! Thank you Minimal!! It's really hard to do these reviews for the Open Tuesday party because there is sooooooooo much music packed into the time that is allotted. But, that's what Open Tuesday is all about, a night filled with such a vast array of sounds that completely engulfs us in a wonderful listening experience!! What started out as an experiment for us has become a regular event and I encourage you to try to join us for great music, beautiful people, dancing, laughter, talking and sharing quality time together too!! Thank you so much to the DJ's and thank you so much to the wonderful HOMEY's and friends who attended!!! You are all so very special to HOME and we are so happy to have you there!! in Party Reviews
Well, due to a horribly busy and long hours at rl job for both myself and A8, I was behind on the bookings!!! So no party was planned for Saturday. Ouch!!!
Anders Bailey was in a fantastic mood Saturday morning/afternoon!!! Lucky us because he wanted to celebrate the sunshine by playing some tunes for us!!! What wonderful music he made at HOME!!!!! He played a happy chill set and a longgggggg one at that!!! The joy in his heart was heard in the tunes he played for us!! There was no way to keep a smile from my face as I listened, and everyone else felt the same. Sometimes these impromptu sets are the best of all. No way to know what is coming or which way we are headed or going, just gotta flow with the sounds!!! Soooooooooooo happy to have you all there to share this very special time. Thank you everyone!! And thank you Anders for honoring the sunshine with us at HOME!!! WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh boy!! Well, I thought that we were finished for the day but noooooooooooooo!!!! The day wore on and it got later and suddenly Anders Bailey dropped by HOME with a great idea!!! hehe!! How about some old classic rock and some various assorted electronica, he asked?? Well...........of course by now I was ready to sit and just relax!!! Yessssssssssssss!! He dug out his old dusty vinyls and he got started with his set!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh TUNE!!!! I guess it is one of those times when you just had to be there to feel the magic. It was great!!! And yes, I know it isn't what we "usually" hear at HOME!!! But guess what???? Expect the unexpected here at HOME, because "normal" is something we are not!! But back to Anders Bailey!!!! No matter what Anders chooses to play, when he adds his own special blend into the mix, then it is nothing short of perfect!!! Thank you again everyone and thank you Anders for a wonderful Saturday at HOME!!!! Thursday, May 8. 2008A8 flooded HOME!!!Posted by Justine Perenti
in Party Reviews
Oh guys!!! A8 (Altern8 McMillan, lol, I cannot get used to the short version = A8) really did it this time!! OMG, what a fantastic set!!! Absolutely amazing!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhh, he flooded HOME with such great music!!! He called it a minimal techno set!! hehehe!! I bet he kills me for writing this!! I haven't heard him play like this very often, it was not his acid style, hard style, jazzy style, chill or any of what you have learned to expect from him. It was more like "A-8 unplugged". He hooked us all into his sounds, that's for certain!! From almost the very beginning of his set he grabbed ahold of us and did not let go, took us on such a sweet trip!!! Floated us away for awhile, and then BAM!! slammed us hard back down to earth, then whoooooooooooooooooosh floated us into suspension again!! I sure hope he recorded it and will post it here. Come on guys!!! Beg him to do it!!! A8 normally (LOL, is it really normal?) plays every Wednesday at HOME at 2 or 3 pm slt, so put it on your calendar!! And you can find him playing his music other clubs and events too!! Thank you Altern8!! Tuesday, May 6. 2008The Monday Hates You crew outdid themselves!!!Posted by Justine Perenti

What a wonderful wonderful party last night at HOME with the Monday's Hate you crew!!!!
They knocked our socks right off!!! Wow!!! Not meaning to get too personal here, but I had such a horrible day at my rl job and so Monday really really did hate me for sure!!! BUT!!!!!!! Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, my spirits were lifted as I listened to the wonderful tunes that were being played. I just hope that you all felt your cares slip away too as we partied!! Before I go further, I just want to say that I am positive that HOME has the best of the best people in all of SL. This is about YOU ALL!!! Our club members and partygoers are so kind, warm and generous, and we really appreciate your support!!! Seems we share so much with each other and I thank you all!! Okay, back to the review, lol, trust me to get off track a bit! Bibdui played first and got everyone's blood boiling with her great selection of a mixture of sounds!!! A bit of Electro, a tad of Disco, a smidgen of Pop and a splash of Funky Punk and to top it off nicely a dash of this and that!!! Wow Bib!!! Great job!! We were not just warmed up, we were hottttttttttttttttttt!!! Next up came Yuzien Born!! And woahhhhhhhhh!!! He did some breakbeats for us and a few tracks that took us to Jamaica surrounded by the islands beauty and soothing atmosphere!!! There is no way possible to feel down while listening to one of Yuzi's sets!!! The combination of his great music and wonderful sense of humor made our spirits soar soooooooooooooo high!! So far we had cake and next comes the icing in the form of Ribe Oh's tunes!!! Oh man!!! He's got the midas touch, his tunes are pure gold!!! His sound is calming yet exciting at the same time and it is so hard to put a name to it!! He always plays such great tracks!!! He played some tunes that I haven't heard in forever, and I must say that he took us wayyyyyyyyyyyy back when he played one of the songs from Mary Poppins!!! "Feed the birds, tuppence a bag", I don't know about you but I am still singing it right now!!! Monday's may hate us, but for sure the Monday Hates You crew loves us and what they do, and it shows!!! Thank you Bibdui, Yuzien Born and Ribe Oh!!! We all love you too! Saturday, May 3. 2008Skul Rhode tells a story at HOME!!!Posted by Justine Perenti
in Party Reviews
As you know, we try very hard to bring you a wide variety of music at HOME!!! I believe that it is very important to expand your mind and have many different experiences.
We were very lucky to have Skul Rhode play for us at HOME!! Skul played a deep, deep set of very personal tunes for us. Most of the tracks were all original ones and so very carefully prepared and extremely intense!! As I listened I felt myself go on musical journey filled with emotion!! Skul's set was like a huge, well made roller coaster and the ride was intense!!! The deep was deep, the high was out of sight!!! The intensity was both exhausting and exhillerating at the same time, which as you know is perfect!! If and when you get a chance to catch a set by Skul, then I encourage you to do so. I apologize because this review really doesn't do Skul's set justice really, but I think you get the general idea!! Thank you so very much Skul!!! Loved it!! |
